Situated at the northern end of the kull valley, Manali has spectacular view of snow capped peaks and wooded slopes along the bank of the beas. It is the main holidays destination in the entire valley. The Manali markt is crowded with myriad of interesting shops selling Tibetan carpets base for trekking and mountaineering in summer and skiing in water. Habimba Temple : The ancient temple built like a pagoda, its lintel and door famed have intricately carved wood . it was built by Maharaja Bahadur Singh in 1553 and enshrines the footprints of the Goddess Hadimba- wife of Bhima. It later became the patron goddess of the Kullu royal family.

Solang Valley : 14 km from Manali . It present marvelous view of the snow –capped peaks and glaciers. It is a popular winter resorts for skiing in winter. Replete with terrific picnic spots , the amazing ski slopes here are full of hectic activities in January – February.

Rohtang Pass: 51 kms from Manali located at a height of 3980 m , the pass served a crucial trade route and a starting point for visit to the lahaul and Spiti Valleys. The Manali – Leh road is one of the highest highway in the world. The pass is open for just for four months in a year – from June to October , When the snow melts.

Lahaul: it curious mixture of Buddhism and Hinduism has fine gompas and temple. 115 kms from Manali and situated at an altitude of 3980 meters. Lahaul is a entry point to the district of Lahul – Sipit. The Manali- Leh Road one of the hightest motorable roads in the world. Crosses the sub- division linking Keylong, its headquarter, to Manali.

Naggar : Situated at an altitude fo 1768 meters acccros a bridge at Patki Kuhl , the town high above the valley – has an old castle . Once the capital of kullu the town has a marvelous medieval building , built of a rough stone around a courtyard with a tiny temple in its central courtyard.

Manikaran: 90 kms from Manali .Situated at an altitude of 1737meters high up under the snowy peaks of he paravati valley are the hot to which Parvati , lost her earring- Manikarana- and recovered them at site from which sulphur spring arises . Manikaran is a place of pilgrimages for the hindus and Sikhs both as there is a temple and a gurudwara.
