DAY 01: ARRIVAL IN AHEMDABAD Mahatma Gandhi Sabarmati Ashram:- Sabarmati Ashram (also known as Harijan Ashram) was home to Mohandas Gandhi from 1917 until 1930 and served as one of the main centres of the Indian freedom struggle. Originally called the Satyagraha Ashram, reflecting the movement toward passive resistance launched by the Mahatma, the Ashram became home to the ideology that set India free. Sabarmati Ashram named for the river on which it sits River Sabarmati. Jumma Masjid:- The Jama Masjid of Ahmedabad was probably the largest mosque in the Subcontinent built in this period. DAY 02 AHMEDABAD -NAL SAROVAR– LITTLE RANN OF KUTCH (BY SURFACE 150 KM – 04 ½ HRS) Check out Early morning Visit to the Nal Sarovar Lake for birding Nal Sarovar is a Bird Sanctuary, spread in the area of 120.82-sq-km Lake, a serene marshland with shallow waters (4-5 ft), Nalsarovar is about 60 km from Ahmedabad. Mainly inhabited by migratory birds as their wintering ground, Nalsarovar wetland is the largest wetland bird sanctuary in Gujarat, and one of the largest in India. One can find rosy pelicans, lesser and greater flamingos, crakes, brahminy ducks, purple moorhen, herons, white storks, various species of bitterns, grebes etc in the lake.
